Getting started

What do I need?

A phone and a Wispcut account. Wispcut runs in your phone's browser and sits on your home screen like an app, so there is nothing to install. If you don't have an account yet, start with three free videos.

How should I film?

Hold your phone up and talk the way you would on a video call. Don't stop for mistakes: say it again and keep going. Wispcut cuts out the pauses, the restarts and the ums. A car park, your kitchen or the shop floor all work. Light on your face and a quiet-ish room help the most.

How do I send a video to Wispcut?

Tap Upload in the app and pick the recording from your camera roll, or use Save to Wispcut from your phone's share sheet. Add a note if there is something you want: the kind of video, a look you like, a clip to use. Then let it work.

How long does it take?

Usually a few minutes, longer for a long recording. The video appears under Your videos when it is ready.

Can I film from a script?

Yes. Save a Reel or TikTok to Wispcut and ask for a script in your voice. Then tap Record and read it off the screen, teleprompter style. Wispcut uses the script as a guide when it cuts.

What you get back

What is in a finished video?

The cuts, captions timed to your voice, a title, B-roll where it helps, a few sound effects and zooms used sparingly, and a post caption with a hook and a call to action, ready to paste.

What kinds of video can it make?

Talking head, B-roll with words, ASMR, outfit and transition edits, simple slow edits, teleprompter videos, edits to a sound, voiceovers, montages, photo and designed carousels, and Instagram stories. One long recording can become several short videos.

Does it add music?

No. Your finished video has your voice and the real sounds, and no song. Add the sound when you post in TikTok or Instagram, so it counts as that sound and is cleared for use there.

Will it look like me, not a template?

Wispcut learns your brand: your colors, your fonts, the looks you keep and every change you have asked for. Each new video starts from that.

Changing a video

How do I change something?

Open the video, tap Ask for a change and type it the way you would say it. "Make the opening faster." "Take out the bit about pricing." "Swap the second clip." Wispcut remakes the video and keeps your earlier changes.

Does it remember?

Yes. A change you ask for becomes a rule for that brand, so you only have to say it once.

Can I pick different clips or a different look?

Yes. Swap the clips in a video, change the caption font or design, add stickers, or ask Wispcut to try three looks side by side and keep the one you like.

I don't like it. Now what?

Tell Wispcut what is wrong, in a sentence. If it is still not right, write to hello@wispcut.com and a person will sort it.

Your library and looks

What is the B-roll library?

Every clip you upload is kept, described and sorted, and Wispcut leans on the ones you have not used yet. You can search it, tidy it and keep a list of shots to film next.

Can I use stock clips?

Yes. Free stock from Pexels and Pixabay can be searched inside Wispcut. Phone clips and polished stock never end up in the same video, so nothing looks mismatched.

What is a look, and can I save it?

A look is how the words appear: caption font, design, colors, title style, stickers. Save one by name and it is there for the next video. Make it your default and every new video starts with it.

What is the shared library?

An optional pool of B-roll from other Wispcut members. Share clips of your own (no faces, no names, no stock) and use theirs. Every clip is checked before it goes in, and you can report or hide anything.

Free trial and paying

What is free?

Your first three videos, changes included, no card.

What counts as a video?

One recording. Even when a long recording becomes several short videos, that is one.

What happens after the three?

Wispcut asks you to pick a plan: $5 a video whenever you want one, or a monthly plan from $39 that works out at about $3 a video. Your videos, library and looks all stay. The plans are on the Pricing page.

What if I use up my month's videos?

Keep going. On a monthly plan, every video past your set is $3, and you never lose the ones you have made.

How do I pay?

On your phone, in the Wispcut app, through the App Store or Google Play. On a computer, at wispcut.com, through Stripe. Either way, Wispcut never sees your card number.

Can I cancel?

Any time, in the same place you bought: your App Store or Google Play subscriptions on your phone, or Account at wispcut.com. You keep everything you have made, and videos you paid for one at a time never expire.

Your account

Can my team use it?

Yes. An account owner can add people with their own sign-in and choose which brands they see.

Where is my data, and who sees it?

It is all on the Privacy page, in plain words.

How do I delete my account?

Open Account in Wispcut and tap Delete my account. Your videos, clips, scripts and saved inspiration are deleted for good, and a plan bought at wispcut.com is canceled too. A plan from the App Store or Google Play is canceled in your phone's subscriptions. Can't sign in? Go to app.wispcut.com/delete-account, or write to hello@wispcut.com from the email on your account and it is gone within a day or two.

Something went wrong. How do I tell you?

Tap Report a problem under the video, or on your Account page. A person reads every report. If someone is at risk, also write to hello@wispcut.com.

How do I reach a person?

hello@wispcut.com. We answer within a day or two.
